Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has delivered on his promise to the people of Jaba Local Government Area with the commissioning of five township roads in Kwoi, the council headquarters, alongside the strategic Kwoi–Gora Road.

The commissioned projects marked a significant milestone for the Ham community and brought an end to what the governor described as more than two decades of neglect in road infrastructure development

Governor Sani recalled that when he performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the projects in September, he assured residents that the intervention would not become another unfulfilled pledge.

“By the grace of God and through the dedication of our team, we have returned to redeem that pledge. Nothing strengthens the bond between a government and its people more than promises fulfilled,” the governor said.

The newly completed township roads include Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road and Kpop Ham Palace Road, in addition to the Kwoi–Gora Road, which serves as a major link for communities within the Jaba Local Government Area.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Sani noted that Jaba was among the local government areas that had suffered prolonged neglect in road construction, with no completed kilometre of road recorded in more than 20 years.

“For well over two decades, Jaba Local Government Area did not witness the construction of a single completed kilometre of road. It was among the 12 Local Governments that were neglected in terms of road construction,” he said.

He said his administration was determined to reverse the trend through an infrastructure agenda focused on fairness, equity, and balanced development across Kaduna State.

According to the governor, his administration has embarked on 150 road projects across the state’s 23 local government areas, covering over 1,355 kilometres, with most of the projects already completed.

Sani said the projects are not only about physical infrastructure but also represent the administration’s commitment to ensuring that every community benefits from the dividends of democracy.

“Government must not be defined by geography, politics or identity but by fairness in the allocation of opportunities and public investment,” he stated.

Governor Sani described the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi–Gora Road as strategic investments that would improve the economic and social well-being of residents.

He said the projects would enhance mobility, improve access to schools and healthcare facilities, strengthen commercial activities, reduce transportation challenges for farmers and traders, and create new investment opportunities.

The governor recalled the difficulties residents experienced on the Kwoi–Gora Road, especially during the rainy season when erosion and poor road conditions disrupted movement, increased transportation costs and limited access to essential services.

He said the completion of the road has opened a new chapter for the Jaba Local Government Area by improving connectivity, supporting agricultural activities, enhancing emergency response, and strengthening social and economic interactions among communities.

For the people of Jaba, the commissioning of the roads represents the fulfilment of a long-awaited promise and a renewed confidence in the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
