Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to Israeli President Isaac Herzog, officially assuming her diplomatic duties in the country.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to the State of Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, on Monday formally presented her Letters of Credence to the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, officially commencing her diplomatic mission in the country.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the people of Nigeria to the Government and people of Israel. She reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the long-standing friendship between both nations.
“I look forward to deepening ties between the two nations in my capacity as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the State of Israel,” she said. “Our focus will be on expanding cooperation for the mutual benefit of our peoples.”
The ambassador identified trade and investment, agriculture and food security, technology and innovation, defence and security cooperation, healthcare, as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges as key priority areas during her tenure.
President Herzog, while welcoming the Nigerian envoy, expressed Israel’s readiness to work closely with Nigeria to advance shared interests, particularly in innovation and counter-terrorism.
Diplomatic observers noted that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s deployment comes at a time when both countries are seeking to broaden economic partnerships and leverage opportunities in the technology and agricultural sectors.
Her appointment is widely regarded as a renewed push to elevate Nigeria-Israel relations and unlock new avenues for collaboration between Africa’s largest economy and the Middle East’s leading innovation hub.
