The Plateau State PDP governorship candidate has unveiled Daniel Kim as his running mate for the 2027 election, describing him as a seasoned administrator, committed party member and Christian worker capable of complementing his vision for the state.

The Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 general election, Kefas Ropshik, has unveiled Dr. Daniel Kim as his running mate, describing the choice as a deliberate move to strengthen his administration with proven administrative experience.
Ropshik made the declaration in Jos on Thursday during a gathering of PDP stakeholders and supporters where Kim was formally presented as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The PDP candidate said Kim’s background as a seasoned administrator, committed party member and Christian worker made him suitable to complement his vision for the state.
According to him, the choice was not accidental but the product of extensive consultations with stakeholders across the state.
“Dr. Daniel Kim has been a seasoned administrator, a party man and a worker in the vineyard of the Lord. He has every quality we are looking for in a leader,” Ropshik said.
He explained that his decision was also informed by his determination to run government as a practical enterprise focused on delivering measurable results to the people.
Ropshik said his administration, if elected, would be driven by a business-oriented approach, making Kim’s administrative experience an important asset to the proposed government.
“I want people to know that this selection was deliberate because I am a practical personality. Our governance will be driven as a business, and that is why we need his administrative backing,” he said.
The governorship candidate promised to translate his campaign promises into practical programmes, particularly in the areas of security, industrialization and economic development.
He said, “I’m going to practicalise all the things I’m talking about, from security to industrialization and all that.”
Ropshik further said the choice of his running mate followed a rigorous consultation process involving different stakeholders, stressing that his ambition was not driven by personal interests.
“What informed my decision to choose him is the rigorous consultation. We had series of consultations from different stakeholders. I will continue to prove to people that my ambition is not personal,” he said.
He also accused the present administration in Plateau State of betraying the mandate given to it by the electorate, arguing that the perceived gap in governance had created an opportunity for the PDP to offer an alternative.
“As far as I’m concerned, the governor has betrayed the mandate given to him by the people, and everybody can bear me witness to this. I believe there is a vacuum to be filled,” Ropshik said.
He expressed confidence in the PDP’s chances ahead of the 2027 election, saying although other political parties would present their candidates, the PDP remained capable of emerging victorious.
With the unveiling of Kim, the PDP ticket now has a running mate with whom Ropshik says he intends to pursue a governance model centred on practical solutions, administrative efficiency, security and industrial development if elected.
