The Kaduna State Government is set to construct a clinic at Sheikh Abubakar Gummi Central Market to improve healthcare access and promote the welfare and productivity of traders and other members of the commercial community.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has approved the immediate construction of a state-of-the-art clinic at the Sheikh Abubakar Gummi Central Market to provide accessible healthcare services to traders, their families, visitors and residents of surrounding communities.
The initiative is aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the large number of people who visit and conduct business at the market daily.
According to the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company (KMDMC), the contractor handling the project has already been mobilised to site, with physical construction works expected to commence this week.
The proposed clinic is expected to provide direct access to medical care for thousands of shop owners, apprentices, market visitors and residents in the surrounding areas.
The KMDMC said the project reflects the state government’s commitment to bringing essential public services closer to the people, particularly workers and members of the informal commercial sector.
The facility is also expected to help reduce delays in accessing medical attention for traders and other market users who may require urgent healthcare services while conducting their daily activities.
The management of KMDMC assured traders and members of the public that the construction would be closely supervised to ensure quality standards, timely completion, and minimal disruption to commercial activities within the market.
The clinic, when completed, is expected to strengthen healthcare access within the market and contribute to the overall welfare and productivity of the commercial community.
