The Niger State Government has commenced payment of retirement benefits and death gratuities to pensioners, covering Batch 12 of the State Government Gratuity, Batch One of the State Government Death Gratuity, and Batch Three of the Local Government Gratuity.
Niger State Begins Retirement Benefit Payments, Death Gratuity To Pensioners
The Niger State Government has commenced the payment of retirement benefits and death gratuity to eligible State and Local Government pensioners across the state.
The payment covers Batch 12 of the State Government Gratuity, Batch One of the State Government Death Gratuity, and Batch Three of the Local Government Gratuity.
State Government beneficiaries have commenced the collection of their cheques at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters in Minna.
Similarly, Local Government gratuity beneficiaries in Zone A are collecting their cheques at the Bida Local Government Secretariat, while beneficiaries in Zone B are receiving theirs at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters in Minna.
Their counterparts in Zone C are simultaneously collecting their payments at the Kontagora Local Government Secretariat.
The State Government says the payment is part of its commitment to ensuring the timely settlement of approved retirement benefits owed pensioners across the state.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising the welfare of senior citizens who dedicated many years of service to the development and growth of Niger State.
Meanwhile, representatives from some northern states are currently understudying the activities and operations of the Niger State Pension Board, following what they described as the appreciable progress recorded by the board in the payment and management of pension-related benefits.
The State Government says it will continue to take steps aimed at improving the welfare and wellbeing of pensioners and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements as and when due.
