Abubakar said his conviction that no nation can thrive without peace inspired the establishment of the Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute for Peace and Sustainable Development Studies in Minna.

Former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd), has said that the pursuit of peace has always been at the heart of his mission as a leader.

He made the remark on Saturday in Abuja during the unveiling of three books to commemorate his 84th birthday.

Abubakar said his conviction that no nation can thrive without peace inspired the establishment of the Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute for Peace and Sustainable Development Studies in Minna.

According to him, the institute was created to promote peacebuilding, dialogue and sustainable development.
