The Supreme Court has struck down a Hawaii law requiring gun owners to get permission before bringing their firearms into private shops and other businesses open to the public.
In a 6-3 ruling, the high court sided with gun-rights advocates who said Hawaii’s restrictions effectively eviscerated the Second Amendment by declaring businesses such as grocery stores, restaurants and parking lots presumptively off limits to those carrying a weapon.
