The visit formed part of the ICAN Kano Study Centre’s tradition of paying courtesy visits to key partner institutions whenever a new leadership assumes office.
The Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano (NWUK), Amina Bayero, on Wednesday received members of the Kano Study Centre of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), led by their newly elected Chairman, Jamilu Abdullahi, on a courtesy visit to her office aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two institutions.
The visit formed part of the ICAN Kano Study Centre’s tradition of paying courtesy visits to key partner institutions whenever a new leadership assumes office.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the ICAN Kano Study Centre, Abdullahi, explained that the visit was intended to reinforce the cordial relationship that has existed between ICAN and Northwest University Kano over the years.
He noted that it has become a tradition for every newly inaugurated leadership of the Study Centre to visit strategic partners across Kano State to consolidate existing collaborations and explore new areas of mutual benefit.
“The purpose of this visit is traditional. Whenever we have new leadership, we visit our partners across the state to further strengthen the existing relationship,” he stated.
Welcoming the delegation, Bayero expressed appreciation for the visit and described ICAN as one of the university’s oldest and most dependable institutional partners.

She recalled the numerous contributions made by ICAN to the growth and development of the university, particularly during her tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
“I can vividly remember when I served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and received an ICAN delegation that supported the university in several ways, including the construction of the ICAN Theatre and the waiver granted to our students during their induction into the ICAN professional system,” she said.
Bayero assured the delegation that the university remains committed to sustaining and expanding its partnership with ICAN, emphasising that the institution’s doors remain open for future collaborations that would benefit both staff and students.
“The University will continue to uphold this valuable relationship. Our doors are always open to partner with ICAN at any time,” the Vice-Chancellor affirmed.
Also speaking during the visit, the Bursar of Northwest University Kano, Salmanu Kibiya, who accompanied the ICAN delegation to the Vice-Chancellor’s office, expressed delight over the visit.
He thanked the leadership of the ICAN Kano Study Centre for maintaining its relationship with the university and prayed for the continued success of the partnership, expressing optimism that the collaboration would continue to produce fruitful outcomes for both institutions.
