The Anambra State Government has commenced moves to standardise the use of official government email systems, @anambrastate.gov.ng, across its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen digital governance, improve cybersecurity and enhance efficiency in public service.

The initiative is expected to establish a unified communication platform for government institutions while promoting professionalism, accountability, and seamless service delivery.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Agbata, through the Agency’s Communications and Media Lead, Angela Nwanodu, disclosed that the standardisation drive aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s digital transformation agenda.

It would ensure that all government correspondence is conducted through secure, official email addresses. According to the Agency’s MD/CEO, the initiative is designed to improve data protection, streamline internal communication, and reinforce public confidence in official government interactions.

He noted that the adoption of a uniform email system would reduce the risks associated with the use of personal email accounts for official business while strengthening the state’s information management framework.

“A standardised government email system is critical to building a modern, efficient and digitally connected public service,” he said, adding that the initiative would also support transparency and institutional credibility across MDAs.

The ICT Agency assured that the implementation of the policy would be accompanied by capacity building for public servants to ensure a smooth transition across government institutions.

It added that the initiative forms part of the Soludo administration’s broader commitment to leveraging technology to improve governance, enhance public service delivery and position Anambra as Nigeria’s leading digitally enabled state.
