The Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has urged former councillors across the twenty-one local government areas of the state to remain united and continue working for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the strength of any political party lies in the loyalty and commitment of its members.

The governor made the call when he received members of the Adamawa Councillors Forum at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola.

Governor Fintiri encouraged the former councillors to sustain the cordial relationship they had built over the years and remain committed to the party’s programmes and leadership.

He described politics as a platform for service, unity, and societal development, stressing that every party member has a responsibility to promote peace, responsible leadership, and the continued progress of Adamawa State.

The governor commended the former councillors for their contributions to grassroots politics, describing them as experienced leaders who understand the needs of their communities and should continue mobilising support for the party.

He urged them not to be discouraged by political transitions, noting that leadership is a continuous process and that today’s followers could become tomorrow’s leaders.

Governor Fintiri also praised the leadership of the forum for conducting its affairs with transparency, dedication, and commitment, adding that their cooperation had contributed significantly to democratic governance in the state.

He said the achievements recorded by his administration would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of party members and stakeholders at the grassroots.

Expressing confidence in their abilities, the governor said many of the former councillors possess the experience and capacity to occupy higher elective offices in the future and encouraged them to prepare for greater responsibilities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and called on all APC members to remain focused on promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across Adamawa State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Adamawa Councillors Forum, Abubakar Modibbo Saidu, said the visit was to appreciate Governor Fintiri for paying all the councillors’ entitlements before they left office and for the confidence he reposed in them during their tenure.

He commended the governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to the development of the state, noting that his support and guidance inspired them throughout their service.

The former councillors also lauded Governor Fintiri for the developmental projects executed across Adamawa State and pledged their continued loyalty and support for his administration and its vision of delivering more democratic dividends to the people.
