The governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to address hunger and poverty in Osun State, promising to implement measures aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of residents.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to improve the welfare of the people and invest in critical sectors of the state’s development.
He also stated his administration’s resolve to eliminate hunger and poverty, and invest in education and health.
Oyebamiji rolled out some of his administration’s proposals on Tuesday during his interview at the town hall meeting organised by Arise TV for candidates contesting the August 15 governorship election.
The APC governorship candidate recalled his time and roles in the public service sector, as he drew from his pool of experience when he served at the state and federal levels.
He stated, “My journey and my destiny, which I have a pact with, took me to Osun as the incoming governor of Osun State. Governance is about people and not about segments; it’s not about an area, a city; it’s the entire people of Osun that I want to serve.
“You have seen that the welfare of our people in Osun is very paramount; security is very important; these are the things that I want to bring up, and we want to banish hunger and poverty, and I want to invest seriously in agriculture, education and health.
“Apart from that, our human asset is very important to us. We are going to look at their welfare; capital development is very important, and these are the things that I’m bringing on board.”
Oyebamiji, an Ikire-born politician, recalled his time at the Osun State Investment Company where he served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for two years.
Rising through the ranks, Oyebamiji served as the state Commissioner for Finance under the leadership of two former governors–Rauf Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola.
In the build-up to Saturday’s election, the Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Independent National Electoral Commission, Victoria Eta-Messi, has disclosed that the commission, in conjunction with security agencies, has intensified the security of voters at the various polling units in Osun State, as she noted that potential flashpoints have been identified at these centres.
Similarly, sensitive election materials have arrived in the state capital, Osogbo, with no fewer than 25,310 personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission deployed across the state.
