The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is reviewing the outcome of the governorship election as the party considers its next line of action.

President Bola Tinubu has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in the just-concluded Osun governorship election as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
Tinubu, in a statement he personally signed on Sunday, said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his victory, which he said confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in the governor.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu said.
The President wished Adeleke success as he prepares to lead the state for another four years, urging him to unite the people and rally them towards the growth, stability and socio-economic progress of Osun State.
“I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years. Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.”
Tinubu also commended the other contestants for the courage and discipline they displayed during the election, saying their participation contributed to the country’s democratic development.
He further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election.
“I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country’s democratic culture. The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land.
“I must also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
“May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to secure a second term as governor of the South-West state.
According to the Returning Officer, Joshua Ogunwole, who declared the results at the INEC Collation Centre in Osogbo, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes.
Oyebamiji scored 444,815 votes, while Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
