The Accord Party has celebrated Ademola Adeleke’s re-election as Osun State governor, describing his victory as “the Lord’s doing” after he polled 511,067 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

The official spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun State governorship election as “the Lord’s doing” and a manifestation of the will of the people.
Olajengbesi, who spoke shortly after the declaration of the results, said the outcome demonstrated that Adeleke remained the preferred choice of the people of Osun State.
“I am super excited. This is the Lord’s doing. This is the manifestation of God’s hand. This is the will of the people of Osun State,” he said.
According to him, the election had affirmed Adeleke’s performance in office and secured a renewed mandate from the electorate.
“I am glad because this election has clearly shown that Governor Ademola Adeleke is the man of the people. This election has justified that Mr Governor has performed very well. The people of Osun State have renewed the mandate by supporting him as the Governor of Osun State,” Olajengbesi said.
He also alleged that the governor faced intimidation and harassment during the election period but emerged victorious despite what he described as the “reckless use of power and abuse of institutions”.
“So we are glad, we are super happy,” he added.
Olajengbesi said the outcome also vindicated Adeleke’s confidence throughout the campaign, noting that the governor had consistently placed his trust in God.
“Importantly, we are glad because throughout the process of this campaign, Mr Governor was very confident. He had his trust in God, and this election is done already,” he said.
Olajengbesi said the result showed that the people of Osun were determined to elect a leader committed to serving them.
“This is the proof that the people of Osun State are determined to elect a leader who is willing to serve the people of Osun State,” he said.
The Returning Officer for the election, Joshua Ogunwole, declared Adeleke the winner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Osogbo early on Sunday.
Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
The Returning Officer said 1,005,800 votes were cast across the state’s 30 local government areas, with 985,079 recorded as valid votes. A total of 1,010,684 voters were accredited for the election.
The election followed months of intense political campaigning and heightened security across the state, with 15 political parties participating in the contest.
Adeleke’s victory secures a second term for the governor, who won his first term in 2022 on the PDP platform before defecting to the Accord Party in December 2025.
