A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Olumide Sunday Oduola, has urged members of the party to unite and reconcile their differences ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying unity is critical to reclaiming the state from the opposition and deliver
victory to President Bola Tinubu.
Oduola, the Ona-Ara coordinator of Team Arapaja, said the party could only achieve victory at the state and national levels if its members remained united and committed to grassroots mobilisation.
He called on aggrieved members to set aside their differences and work for the overall interest of the party, stressing that internal division could undermine its chances at the polls.
“Unity must prevail in the APC. All aggrieved members should come together, resolve their differences and work for the overall interest and victory of the party,” he said.
Oduola expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, saying he possessed the experience and capacity to consolidate the achievements of the state and deliver improved governance if elected.
He urged party members to intensify mobilisation across wards, polling units and communities, stressing that electoral victory would not be achieved through declarations alone.
“Our members must remain united and committed at the grassroots because victory will not come by words alone. We must work for it in every ward, polling unit and community,” he said.
According to him, Tinubu has a clear vision and mission for the country and should be given the opportunity to accomplish his agenda.
Oduola said the party was targeting victory across all elective positions in Oyo State in 2027, from the State House of Assembly to the House of Representatives, Senate and presidency.
He, therefore, urged APC members and supporters to vote for the party’s candidates, including Tinubu for another term as President, Alli for governor, Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Akin Alabi for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency and Funmi Obisesan for Ona-Ara State Constituency.
He also charged party members to participate actively in canvassing for votes and protecting the party’s votes on election day.
“We must protect our votes and ensure victory for the party at all levels,” he said.
