DLM Capital Group has fulfilled its second coupon payment of N1.15 billion on its Sovereign-Backed Commercial Notes (SBCNs), marking another scheduled payment to investors under the programme.
DLM Capital Group, a development investment bank, has fulfilled its second principal and interest (coupon) payment obligation to investors under its N9 billion Sovereign Bond-Backed Composite Notes (SBCN), issued under the Group’s N30 billion Medium-Term Notes Programme listed on FMDQ Exchange.
The Group paid N948,493,055.89 to investors in Tranche A and N197,077,309.63 to investors in Tranche B, bringing the total second principal and interest payment to N1.15 billion.
The payment came six months after the successful settlement of the first principal and interest obligation on DLM Funding SPV Plc’s N7.30 billion Series 1 (Tranche A) and N1.70 billion Series 3 (Tranche B) Plain Vanilla Returns SBCN, also listed on FMDQ Exchange.
DLM Capital Group said the latest payment further demonstrated its consistent delivery since the issuance of the SBCNs.
Developed by Sonnie Babatunde Ayere, Group Chief Executive Officer of DLM Capital Group, the financial instrument, which was rated AAA by Global Credit Rating and DataPro Limited, entered the market in July 2025.
The Group said the subsequent performance of the instrument had provided an opportunity for the market to assess the strength of its structure through actual delivery.
According to DLM Capital Group, Tranche A remains the most valuable listed corporate AAA-rated bond on the market, citing its inflation-beating upward-sloping returns.
Beyond meeting its payment obligations, the Group said it had maintained consistent quarterly performance reporting, providing investors and other market stakeholders with continued visibility into the instrument’s performance.
Ayere said the combination of regular reporting, strong credit ratings and timely fulfilment of payment obligations had continued to reinforce investor confidence in the structure.
“The successful second coupon payment is therefore not only another milestone for the DLM SBCNs, but also a continuation of the Group’s commitment to developing and delivering innovative financial solutions backed by execution, transparency and value for its investors and stakeholders,” he said.
Ayere added that the initiative was part of the Group’s efforts to strengthen its position as a financial institution contributing to the continued development of Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
