Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former Osun State governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and ex-Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi have visited ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.

The trio visited Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to seek his “wise counsel”, with Makinde posting photos from the meeting on his social media platforms.

“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in Abeokuta,” the Oyo governor wrote alongside the photos. “Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election. We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”

Makinde rose to power as governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Currently in his second and final term as governor, the Oyo leader is now with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and will fly the party’s flag in the presidential election.
