Telecommunications firm, MTN, said it has resolved recent network outages that disrupted services in Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Delta states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, assuring subscribers that connectivity has now been restored.
The company, in a notice at the weekend, apologised to millions of affected customers for the inconvenience caused, noting that the downtime was due to technical issues that have since been fixed. MTN pledged to strengthen its infrastructure to prevent a recurrence and maintain reliable service delivery.
The notice reads: “Yhello, some of us experienced a service disruption that affected our ability to stay connected.
“We know how important it is to stay in touch with people, businesses, and moments that matter most.”
While our teams worked tirelessly to restore service as quickly as possible, we sincerely wish this disruption had not happened.”
In the notice signed by MTN Chief Customer Relations and Experience Officer, Ugonma Nwoye, the firm added: “Your trust means everything to us, and we remain committed to providing the reliable connection you deserve.”
In an earlier notice, MTN, which, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), had, as of July, 2026, 100.5 million subscribers in the country, disclosed that it deployed engineers to the affected sites to fix the problem.
The firm, however, advised subscribers on what to do if they still experience hitches.
“Still having issues? Please restart your device to reconnect.”
Recall that for about two days, millions of subscribers across major commercial hubs in Nigeria were plunged into growing frustration following persistent service disruptions on the MTN network.
