Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, says the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are helping states execute development projects while meeting salary and pension obligations without resorting to borrowing.
Radda made the statement on Sunday at the Tinubu/Dikko Assured 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment, school commissioning and virtual commissioning of 45 solar streetlights in Katsina.
The governor said his administration had moved away from borrowing to pay workers’ salaries, adding that the state had executed projects worth more than ₦30 billion without taking loans while maintaining prompt payment of salaries and pensions.
He said leadership should be judged by tangible achievements and measurable results rather than political rhetoric, urging elected officials to fulfil the promises they make to the people.
Radda also announced a personal donation of ₦10,000 each to 690 Islamiyya teachers, amounting to ₦7 million, under the empowerment programme.
He called on citizens, businesses and philanthropists to complement government efforts through interventions that support communities and contribute to sustainable development.
The governor further cautioned residents against allowing misinformation to overshadow what he described as genuine development achievements, while challenging political aspirants to present practical solutions and clear development plans to voters.
Former Katsina Governor and Chairman of TETFund, Aminu Masari, also commended the development efforts of Tinubu and Radda, citing ongoing federal infrastructure projects and road improvements as examples of government investment aimed at supporting economic activity and agricultural productivity.
The Director-General of Tinubu/Dikko Assured 2027, Umar Zayyad, said the organisation had extended its interventions to Islamiyya schools as part of its focus on education and community development.
