Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
He was buried according to Islamic rites after funeral prayers at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. Ogogo’s death came days after his family publicly disclosed that he had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer.
His death has sparked widespread tributes across the Yoruba film industry, with colleagues describing him as a major figure whose contributions to Nigerian cinema and Yoruba culture will not be forgotten.
Family members, friends, residents and several prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry gathered to pay their final respects to the Yoruba cinema icon.
Among those present were veteran actors Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Mr Latin, Dele Odule, Olaiya Igwe, Fathia Balogun and Kolawole Ajeyemi, who joined mourners in honouring the late actor.
