Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, political analysts and campaign insiders have attributed a significant part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s victory in the just-concluded Ekiti State governorship election to the deployment of technology, data analytics and strategic voter engagement by political consulting and campaign management firm, Monan Innovation.

The firm, engaged by the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate to strengthen campaign operations and voter outreach, introduced a data-driven campaign model that complemented traditional grassroots mobilisation and helped the party deepen its engagement with voters across the state.

From the early stages of the campaign, Monan Innovation deployed personnel across Ekiti’s 16 Local Councils to identify registered voters, gather field intelligence and establish direct communication channels with communities.
Campaign sources said the initiative enabled the APC to obtain a clearer understanding of voter demographics, local concerns and public sentiment, thereby helping campaign managers tailor messages and interventions to specific communities.

According to the sources, the strategy moved beyond conventional electioneering by relying on research, voter intelligence and measurable data to guide decision-making throughout the campaign period.

Speaking on the firm’s role, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele described Monan Innovation as a team of innovative young professionals leveraging technology to strengthen political campaigns and voter engagement.

Bamidele noted that one of the firm’s major assignments was identifying registered voters and helping the campaign establish direct contact with them.

According to him, after months of rallies and public engagements, the APC campaign shifted focus to verified voter outreach, a process made possible through the voter-mapping exercise undertaken by Monan Innovation.
He stated that the initiative enabled the campaign to engage voters more directly and strengthen communication with communities across the state.

Apart from voter engagement, Monan Innovation also introduced modern campaign infrastructure that became one of the most visible features of Oyebanji’s re-election bid.

Among the innovations was the deployment of automatic remote-controlled mobile stage trucks fitted with giant LED screens, designed to take campaign activities directly to the people while reducing the logistical challenges associated with conventional rallies.
Also, the Chief Executive Officer of Monan Innovation, Mrs Moji Yakubu, said the objective was to make political engagement more strategic and evidence-based.

She explained that the company deployed a combination of voter research, grassroots intelligence and direct engagement strategies to help the campaign better understand the electorate and communicate more effectively with voters.

According to Yakubu, Monan Innovation’s campaign framework integrates pre-campaign research, campaign monitoring and post-election analysis to ensure that campaign decisions are driven by facts and verifiable data.
“Our approach is centred on understanding the mindset of the electorate and helping campaign teams make informed, data-driven decisions. This enables resources to be deployed more effectively and improves voter engagement,” she said.

She added that campaign research helps identify trends among voters, assess public perception and determine the most effective communication channels for reaching different segments of the electorate.

Yakubu said the technology allowed campaign teams to move seamlessly between locations, with the trucks transforming into fully functional campaign stages at event venues and reverting to mobile units after programmes.
She said: ” The mobile stage units accompanied Governor Oyebanji throughout his statewide campaign tours, serving as platforms for speeches, voter engagement and the display of campaign messages, achievements and policy initiatives.

“The technology was also deployed during the APC mega rally in Ado-Ekiti attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior party leaders.

According to Yakubu, the LED-equipped platforms enhanced voter engagement by providing greater visibility for campaign messages and facilitating broader public participation during campaign activities.

” Supporters of the governor maintain that the combination of voter data management, strategic communication, grassroots mobilisation and innovative campaign infrastructure significantly boosted the APC’s visibility and outreach across the state.”

With Oyebanji emerging victorious at the polls, observers believe the Ekiti governorship election has underscored the growing role of data analytics, technology and research-driven strategies in modern political campaigns.

They noted that as electoral contests become increasingly competitive, political parties and candidates may be compelled to adopt similar technology-enabled approaches to voter engagement, campaign management and electoral mobilisation.
