Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the reconstruction and rehabilitation of major federal roads across the South-East, describing the intervention as a significant step toward addressing decades of infrastructure deficits in the region.

The approved roads are the 108km Otuocha- Anam- Abaji Road and the 150km Oba- Nnewi-Uga Ihube road, all cutting through Anambra to Kogi and Imo state, respectively, and which will be dualised.

The governor said the approval reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving connectivity and economic activities across the zone.

Governor Soludo noted that the road projects are expected to ease transportation challenges, facilitate the movement of goods and services, and stimulate trade and investment in the South-East.

He stressed that improved road infrastructure would enhance regional integration while boosting socio-economic development and the overall welfare of residents.

The governor praised President Tinubu for what he described as a responsive approach to infrastructure development, saying the approval demonstrates a willingness to tackle critical challenges affecting the region.

“The approval of these major South-East road projects is a welcome development that will have far-reaching economic and social benefits for our people,” Soludo said.

He expressed optimism that the projects would be executed to the highest standards and completed within schedule, urging continued collaboration between the Federal Government and the states to accelerate development across the country.

Soludo reaffirmed Anambra State’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national growth and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
