The APC has unveiled its 2027 campaign council, with former Zamfara Governor Abdul’aziz Yari and Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma among those given key roles, while President Bola Tinubu will serve as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.

Tinubu received the symbolic APC flag from the National Chairman of the party, Nentawe Yilwatda, after emerging as the presidential candidate of the party on Sunday, May 24, 2025.

Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, President Bola Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, appointing former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.

The composition of the council is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu will serve as chairman of the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will be the vice chairman, just as the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, is also named as a vice chairman.

The statement explains that Senator Yari’s appointment places him at the centre of the party’s campaign machinery, while Governor Uzodimma will coordinate the council’s secretariat as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential contest.

The party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary.

The campaign council will be supported by a team of senior political advisers comprising former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; former Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

The statement added that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North.
