The Nigeria Immigration Service is taking its passport intervention services to London, Manchester and other UK cities, offering Nigerians abroad additional access to passport-related services while retaining its existing digital channels.

Nigerians in the United Kingdom seeking new passports, renewals, or resolution of pending applications will have a wider window to access immigration services, as the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a special passport intervention exercise across four UK cities.
The exercise, which runs from September 7 to 26, 2026, follows the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS headquarters in Abuja on the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Working with the Nigerian High Commission, the team will take passport enrolment and processing services to London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff, bringing the service closer to Nigerians who may otherwise face delays or challenges accessing passport services.
The intervention will be held in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, before moving to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.
In London, applicants will be attended to at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW, while the Manchester exercise will take place at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Ln, Manchester M14 5NE.
The team will then move to Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen, AB24 4NR, and Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.
“Accordingly, all eligible Nigerians in the specified locations, including surrounding areas, who wish to obtain new passports, renew their passports, or resolve pending applications are encouraged to take advantage of the exercise and visit the designated venues on the scheduled dates,” a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, read.
Applicants are required to arrive with a completed application form, a payment slip as proof of payment, an appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope.
Those applying for passport renewal must also present their current passport.
The service has made clear that “applicants who come with cash will not be attended to”.
It also urged applicants to cooperate fully with officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.
The NIS said that the intervention does not replace its digital channels. The NIS said its digital passport application platforms, including the contactless passport application system, remain operational, with home delivery also available.
Applicants are required to apply and make payment through the NIS passport application portal.
