The Anambra State Police Command has secured the remand of a couple (names withheld) at a correctional centre over their alleged involvement in the abuse of a 10-year-old boy in Anambra State.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspects were arraigned in court following the conclusion of preliminary investigations into the case, which attracted widespread public attention after reports and video footage of the victim circulated on social media.

Ikenga commended residents of the community for their vigilance, cooperation, and timely provision of information, which, according to him, led to the successful rescue of the child, ensured that he received the necessary medical attention, and facilitated the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

He said the Command remains committed to ensuring that all those found culpable are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
